But if your children are older, there's a really cool Frisbee golf course, and skate park all in the same area. And, there is a camp for children. This treasure in the mountains is simply awesome because it's located in an area that has amazing trails for hiking and mountain biking in the summer, and snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and sledding in the winter. But that's just for starters. You have the Truckee River for rafting and enjoying all kinds of water activities like fly fishing, swimming, and kayaking.

We love it so much that we nearly moved here. But just as we were selling our Marin home, the economy tanked and we were forced to stay in Marin. Now we have two long term or vacation rentals available. Now we enjoy coming up with our children and enjoy all the amenities. Our family enjoyment comes from bringing our children to Donner lake, hiking, and the park as described above. My wife and I have our mountain biking, trail running, snowboarding, skiing. With two children, my
wife and I have discovered some great places to bring your children as
well. For example, the park down the road from our Sierra Meadows home
is perfect for my 3 year old. And it's beautiful there.
In addition, you have Old
Town Truckee and New Town. Tons' of history to experience.
Donner lake is just a skip away. Tahoe Donner is not 5 minutes away.
Northstar, Alpine Meadows, and Squa Valley are 15-20 minutes away. And
you can drive to Lake Tahoe in about 25 minutes going slow. 
Whether you want to
enjoy a nice cabin and read a book, go to the Spa, or get some serious
extreme snow boarding or skiing in, or enjoy some fly fishing in the
Truckee River, this is the spot for many diverse activities that you
will remember for a long long time.
